The owners of Soaring® Tree Top Adventures have a long history with the local area. Denny Beggrow bought the 180 acres of land that is home to Soaring and Tall Timber Resort in 1969 – when he was just 19 years old. He set out to build a 5-star remote getaway resort. In 1972, Tall Timber Resort opened for its first guests. Tall Timber Resort, only accessible by train or helicopter, was a 5-star resort for over 40 years. The resort only had 10 rooms with a full capacity of 30 guests, with a staff to guest ratio of 2-1, with focus of anticipating and exceeding its guests’ needs. The guest experience and level of service was always paramount to Tall Timber.
Be spoiled as the only guests at our remote zipline for the entire day. This exclusive tour can accommodate up to 20 guests.

Soaring Tree Top Adventures is plain and simply one of the best places to visit and experience. The entire staff is excellent in every aspect from the time you are greeted to board the train until you exit the train from the return ride. Safety is top notch and very well maintained every step of the way. Just not enough good words to express about the staff. Great people make the difference. They have definitely captured that! Can’t wait to visit again.
Every aspect of Soaring Tree Top Adventures is top of the line, First Class quality! First and foremost is safety-the zip line equipment is in pristine condition, and I never once felt the least bit nervous about it. The staff is amazing-enthusiastic, positive, upbeat, informative, friendly, welcoming, helpful, and experienced at what they do.
Soaring Colorado, truly is the number one zip-line course in the world, with over 25 runs it truly is the best way to experience the beautiful aspens, ponderosas, the Animus river, and so many more breathtaking sights. I recommend this experience to do while in the Durango area, it takes around 5 hours to complete, but they offer you snack and waters along the way, along with lunch! My family and I really enjoyed this experience!
This truly is a 5-star, once-in-a-lifetime experience from beginning to end. First, THE SCENERY. The scenery you’re ziplining through (one line goes through Aspen trees!), having lunch at, riding the train through is all truly incredibly gorgeous and the best scenes we saw over our entire week trip to Colorado. The staff was incredibly helpful, kind and educated on how to operate all lines. Lunch was gourmet and delicious. Everything felt super safe.
My husband and I did the zip lining with my brother and sister-i n-law. WE HAD A BLAST. This was their 2nd time and our first. The staff was A++, they made sure EVERYONE in the group was having a great time. The snack was awesome and lunch even better. We took the train ride from the Rockwood pickup and it was a very scenic and enjoyable trip. We felt very safe while zip-lining. Definitely would do this again.
